Grady hosts track meet to start season

- Grady ISD hosted its first High School track meet in several years last Thursday. The track meet had six total schools in attendance. The schools were as follows: Grady, Loop, Wellman-Union, Ackerly-Sands, Garden City, and Buena Vista. Both boys and girls track meets were very competitive.

Grady golfers improving with each tournament

- With the golf season in full swing, Grady High School golfers are seeing tremendous growth with each tournament. On Monday and Tuesday, the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats competed at the Coahoma Golf Tournament at Comanche Trails Golf Course in Big Spring.

Adalynn Peugh and her cross, Tony, placed 2nd at the San Antonio Stock Show. She also received the Texas Bred Class Champion Award. Later in the week she participated in the Youth Auction.

Carson, Barnes qualify for state powerlifting meet

– The Stanton High School Powerlifters were in Colorado City over the weekend for the THSWPA Class 3A Region I Powerlifting Meet. In the team standings, the Lady Buffs finished sixth overall. Individual results with the lifts for squat, bench, deadlift, and total. Weight Class 105 4.

Bearkat brains have been busy

- The academic competitors at Glasscock County ISD have been busy with the Wall Math/ Science Meet and the Virtual Meet #4.

Garden City track is underway

- Garden City’s track teams competed at the Grady High School Wildcats Relays last Thursday. The Bearkats junior varsity team won the meet with 208 points. Wellman-Union was the next closest team with 64 points.

Garden City netters shine at Bearkat meet

- The Garden City varsity tennis team competed in the Bearkat Invitational this past Friday.

Talamantes, Jost top all-district honors

– The Garden City Bearkats were well represented on the recently released All-District 11-A Basketball Teams. Senior guard Julio Talamantes received the top superlative honor and was named Co-District Most Valuable Player.

Bearkat brains have been busy

- The Garden City Junior High Texas Math and Science Coaches Association team competed at the Regional Meet in Andrews and finished Second Sweepstakes. The top 10 places from each grade level are listed below.

Wittrein places fifth at Regionals

– Garden City Powerlifter Lynette Wittrein was in Colorado City over the weekend competiting in the THSWPA Class 1A-2A Region 1 Div.3 Meet. She placed 5th in her division. Weight Class 220 5. Lynette Wittrein (330 squat, 160 bench , 335 deadlift - 825 total)
