- Garden City dominated the Class A State Golf Tournament this weekend at the Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle. The Lady Bearkats team of Rylee Wood, Shelby Braden, Kara Roberts, Briana Halfmann, and Keegan Batla won the State team title shooting 374, 356 - 730.

- Grady freshman Audrey Marler competed in the UIL State Golf Tournament on May 15 and 16 at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle. Marler shot a first round 89 followed by a second round 90 for a two day total of 179 to finish seventh overall.
Garden City pole vaulter Blain Walts was in Austin last weekend for the ClassAState Track and Field Championships. He vaulted a new personal best of 12’ and finished sixth.

Grady Wildcats - Junior High District Tennis Results

Grady Junior High Tennis competed in the District 8A Tennis Tournament on May 6 at Lamesa High School Tennis Courts. Both the Girls and Boys won the Team District Titles as well as the Overall Team Title. All 14 kids that participated at the district tournament placed and received a medal.

– The Stanton Lady Buffs softball season came to an end last Saturday with two losses to Brownfield in the Class 3A Bi-District game of the playoffs. In the first game on Friday night, a huge final inning by Brownfield cost Stanton the victory.

– The Grady Wildcats competed in the Region I Class A Track and Field Championships on Apr 28 and 29 at South Plains College in Levelland. Tatum North had a spectacular day and is the lone Grady athlete that qualified for the State Track and Field Championships. North ran a 17.

– The Stanton Buffaloes competed in the Region I Class AAA Track and Field Championships on Apr 28 and 29 at Abilene Christian University Track and Field Stadium in Abilene.

8 hits not enough for Buffaloes, Presidio tops Stanton 5-3

Stanton fell 5-3 to Presidio in a district seeding game on Monday despite out-hitting them eight to six. Cody Hancock took the loss for Stanton. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Bret Davis started the game for Stanton.
