Stanton’s cheer squads were at Cheer Camp this past week and will be bringing home a ton of hardware. Varsity cheer and mascot each won spirit stick awards on day one and then received the Gold Ribbon for Sideline Evaluations on day two. Day three Stanton won a blue ribbon for our Camp Routine Evaluation, a third spirit stick and best of all, six of the Varsity girls made All-American Cheer.

– The Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) Outstanding Performance Series is a program designed to select annually the most outstanding Class 1C, 2C/3C, 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A concert band programs in the State of Texas each year.

- Martin County Little League took it’s 10U All-Star team to Andrews last week to compete in the Cal Ripken District Tournament. The six team double elimination tournament featured Stanton, Seminole, Kermit, Andrews, Levelland, and Lamesa.
The 8U Buffaloes (above) finished the district tournament 2-2 and placed third.

- Jessi Everett had a phenomenal competition at the Texas High School State Finals Rodeo at Taylor Telecom Arena in Abilene. She competed in Goat Tying and finished third with a time of 21.68 to qualify for the national rodeo. Colee Cox and Lucy Richards tied for first with a time of 21.05.
Johnathon Harding, of San Angelo, caught an Elite ShareLunker at O.H. Ivie on June 10, 2023. His catch weighed 12.05 lbs and was 27 inches long.

BIG BEND Amistad GOOD. Water slightly stained; 78 degrees; 48.17 feet below pool. Water level is rising and the main river is stained. Bass are fair in shallow water on spinnerbaits, jigs, and senkos.

- Kaden Peters, who will be a sixth grader at Stanton Middle School in the fall, was selected earlier in the spring as an All American for Soccer Youth. June 1 - 4 Peters participated in the Soccer Youth All American Series in Round Rock.
