MIDLAND - Janie Alaniz Juantos, 78, passed away Mar. 21, 2026, at 1:30am in Midland.
Janie was born Mar. 18, 1948, in Taft, to the late Juan and Josefina Alaniz.
She is preceded in death by her entire family as she was the last surviving sibling. She is also preceded in death by three children; Roger Tello, Sandra Singleterry, and Michelle Singleterry.
Janie leaves behind a husband Jose Juantos, who she was married to for 32 years; two children: daughter Brenda Singleterry and husband Rey Chavira of Midland, son Robert Tello of Midland; six grandchildren; two of whom she raised, Lacie Gomez and Stormie Trest of Midland, Kara Ann Wild of Austin, Timothy Tello of Austin, Brandon Tello of Midland, Maggie Cazares of Stanton; eight great-grandchildren; Amari, Jaymes, and Marli Gomez, Cesar and Andres Reyna, Coral’Lee and Corinna Wild and Steven Tello.
Janie was known for being strong-willed and very independent. She marched to the beat of her own drum, caring little about others opinions. She loved life and was a dedicated nurse for 35 years. Helping people was what she excelled at. Janie leaves behind loved ones who will always cherish the memories they had with her, as she profoundly impacted their lives. She will truly be missed.
A visitation and rosary were Mar. 24, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was Mar. 25, at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Interment immediately followed at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Amari Gomez, Mark Morris, Eric Morris, Nick Morris, Andrew Saldana, Tim Gonzales, and David Cazares.
