MIDLAND - Anesto “Tat” Montez III went home to be with his Heavenly father on Apr. 15, 2026. He was born to Sylvia Mendoza and the late Anesto Montez Jr., on June 18, 1978, in Midland. Anesto was raised and educated in Midland. He enjoyed when he had an opportunity to ride his motorcycle, playing horseshoes, barbecuing, drawing, and rooting for his Houston Texans. He had an infectious personality and was always joking around. To him, no one was ever a stranger. Anesto also loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed family game nights.
Anesto is survived by his two daughters Moniece and husband Alex Garcia of Midland, Adriana Montez of Midland; four grandchildren Ayla, Zaine, Xavier, Liam; his mother Sylvia Mendoza of Midland; his brothers Albert Montez and wife Elisa of Midland, Anthony Montez of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Anesto Montez, Jr; grandfather Anesto Montez Sr; grandmother Catalina Montez; uncle Armando Montez; and stepfather Ray Nanez Jr.
His pallbearers were Mark-Anthony Ray Montez, Jacob Montez, Jayden Montez, Lee Mungia III, Ray Nanez III, Armando Montez Jr., Matthew Cervantez, Rosario Portillo and honorary pallbearer Zaine Ramos.
A visitation and rosary were Apr. 20, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral mass was Apr. 21, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment immediately followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.
