STANTON - Enrique Escocheda Cantu, age 89, of Stanton, passed on to his Heavenly Home, May 3, 2026. He was born Nov. 5,1936 in Beeville, to the late Tomasa Escocheda Cantu and Enrique Cantu.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Angelita Cantu , and his son Enrique Cantu III.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Elena Cantu, Gloria Cantu, and Linda Hill; sons Frank Cantu, Lino Cantu, and Joe Cantu; sister Hortencia Perez; 31 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren as well many extended family and friends.
A visitation will be May 7, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home from 9am -8pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be May 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, at 10am. Interment to immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are to be Pete DeLeon, Amador Rios Jr., Andres Juarez, Javier Delgado, Frankie Cantu, Adam Cantu, Justin Joe Cantu, A.J. Hill.
