STANTON - Perfecta “Rosa” Nevarez died Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020. She was born in Santo Nino de Arriba, Coahuila, Mexico on Mar. 31 1935.
She married the love of her life, Jesus Nevarez on Dec. 17, 1960. They moved to Stanton in 1961 where she spent the remainder of her life.
Gardening and cooking were two of her greatest pleasures, surpassed only by the joy of spending time with her family and friends. Known as “Abuelita” to her family, she was very strong in her Catholic faith and a very loving lady who loved to laugh and cook for her family. Her wisdom, her guidance, and her encouraging words will be greatly missed.
Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Elia Dill (Rickey) of Brownfield, Jesse Nevarez Jr (Nena) of Stanton, and Alfredo Nevarez (Susan) of Buda, 13 grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren.
A private mass was celebrated on Apr. 15 and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date yet to be determined. Care and arrangements are under the direction of the Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.
