Terry David McAnally

ATHENS - Terry David McAnally, 73, died Oct. 25, 2020 at his home in Athens, after an extended illness. He was born on June 28, 1947 to Claud and Billie (Winslett) in Pecos. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Teresa McAnally and Angel Pierce; sister, Toby Ward; and wife Cherylene McMorries.

He grew up in the Iraan area. He lived all over, including Tarzan for a few years, and often wherever the oilfield took him. He crossed paths with countless people, and most anyone who knew him probably had a few funny stories to share about him. Terry was one of a kind. He worked in the oilfield most all his life. He was hard working, and a throwback kind of problem solver for many oil companies and businesses. Terry shared his expertise as easily as he shared his successes even beyond the oil field, touching many lives along the way. He was a generous, loving man who continued to grow as the years passed. He loved deep, and will be greatly missed by so many of us. Terry was a member of the Church of God, Athens, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Vivian McAnally; sons Benny (BJ) Stone, Jr. and wife, LeeAnn, Tim Stone and wife, Kristie, Brandon McMorries; granddaughter, Ashley Palmer, and husband Paul; grandson, Bryce Holmes; 13 grandchildren, seven great grand-children; brothers Mike McAnally and wife, Jeanette, Doug McAnally and wife, Diana.
