STANTON - Todd Bryan Smith, 60 of Stanton, died May 16, 2021, at his residence. Graveside funeral services were May 18, at the Evergreen Cemetery chapel.
He was born Apr. 19. 1961 in Midland and married Tamala Allred Jan. 31, 1981 in Stanton.
He was a lifelong resident of Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School. He attended Wayland Baptist University on a track scholarship. He worked for Wes Tex Telephone Coop, retiring as a construction foreman after 39 years, 8 months of service. He enjoyed playing golf and cards, yard work and gardening, and his passion was cooking.
He served 24 years on the Stanton ISD school board, 30 years on the Stanton Volunteer Fire Department, 12 years with the Martin County EMS and was a youth football coach for 30 years. He was past president of the Stanton J.C.’s, Stanton Booster Club, the Old Settlers Reunion and the Martin County Country Club.
Survivors include his wife Tamala Smith of Stanton; one son Ty Smith and wife, Erica, of Stanton; one daughter Tasha Creech and husband, Bryan, of Lenorah; five grandchildren, Wyatt Creech, Braylan Creech, Hattie Creech, Clara Smith and T. J. Smith; one brother Terry Smith and wife, Leza, of Lake O. H. Ivie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Johnny Louder, Wally Hazelwood, Tom Riley, Bryan Creech, Chad Smith and Larry Butler. Honorary pallbearers were his Wes Tex Family, Kevy Allred, Bimbo Allred, Dusty Allred, Carl Dean, Danny Ireton and Mark Cotton.
