STANTON - Leo McCalister Jr., of Stanton, died on June 19, 2021. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., June 25, at First Baptist Church, 200 Broadway St., Stanton, TX. The repass will follow at Stanton Senior Center, 104 E. Broadway.
Leo McCalister Jr. was born February 27, 1947, in Hubbard, to Leo and Florida McCalister. He proudly served in the US Army, and worked as a long haul truck driver to support his family. He lived a full life and enjoyed driving, fishing, watching old western and karate movies but most of all Leo loved his children.
He is survived by Karen, Kenneth, Tameka, and Leo III; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother Douglas McCalister; five sisters Celestine Turner, Georgia Smith, Mammie Shelton, Mora Dee McCalister, and Rosa Jones; his "adopted" sons Jake Reid, Chris Carroll, and Kendrick Johnson; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by parents, Leo and Florida McCalister, siblings, Cleo, Calvin, Daisy, Lou Wilma, and Charlie.
