Patricia Lou Decker

GARDENDALE - A celebration of the life of Patricia Lou Decker will be Apr. 14, at 10 am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Kelly Wisdom will officiate the service.

Patricia Lou Decker was born Dec. 31, 1932 to Warren and Ina Morgan in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. She died at her home in Gardendale, on Apr. 7, 2022.

She married the love of her life Donald Leo Decker on July 9, 1952. He served in the military from 1952 to 1962 and served in the Korean war. She was a proud military wife and enjoyed their travels together. Following Don's military service, they spent several years farming in Clayton, Illinois.

Over the course of her life, Pat worked in numerous professions. After moving to Texas in 1981, she worked the metal shear cutting machine at Clark Engineering and later worked in retail. She was most proud of being a homemaker and mother to her family.

Don and Pat had seven children, Debra Elizondo and Donna Hoffman of Gardendale, Texas; David "Lonestar Dave" (Nancy) Decker of Stanton; Diane (Charles) Baucom of Las Cruces, NM; Darlene (Roger) Hahn of Odessa; Mona Ables of Lakewood, Colorado; and Michelle Abel of Odessa. In addition to her children, she left behind 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Decker; her parents, Warren and Ina Morgan; her sister Mona Lee Bleigh and her husband Lowell Bleigh; her sister-in-law Laura Morgan and her brother Kenneth Morgan.

Her brother Warren "Tanny" Morgan of North Fork, CA and sister-in-law Jacqueline Morgan of Carson City, NV survives her.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her encouraging words along with her strength and determination. She had a strong faith and could be counted on to pray for others. She will be missed tremendously. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The West Texas Food Bank in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
