STANTON - John Allen White, 63 of Stanton, died Apr. 24, 2022, after a battle with Cancer. Services will be 11 a.m., May 7, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1958 in Roswell, New Mexico, to Connie and Henry White. While a senior in high school, he was the youngest line mechanic on commission for Jay Old Cadillac and was very respected for his knowledge of electrical systems and his mechanical abilities. Just days after his graduation he moved to Midland where he put down roots and began working as a diesel mechanic, then as a Hot Shot Owner Operator and later a long haul Owner Operator. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to the construction industry where he began building custom cabinets, remodeling homes especially enjoying the intricate and delicate finish work, he was a perfectionist. He then began building custom homes, however, his favorite was specialty work such as custom furniture, custom ornamental metal/iron work, restoration and even fabrication of antique vehicles. Some of his work was awarded nationally for best in show. He was truly blessed with a gift.
He and Ann were married in June of 1983 and enjoyed almost 39 years together. They were blessed with one son, who grew up working with John and has now taken the business, OldSchool Builders, as his own. His one simple pleasure in his life were his pets. He LOVED his pets and they loved him.
He is survived by his wife Ann and their son John Clay, his wife Angel and grandchildren Jess, Trent and Branden; his sister Peggy Parlee, her daughter Shawna McIllvain and husband Jason; Peggy’s son Chad Parlee and wife Brandi; his brother Henry Clay White, wife Ellen and their daughter Kim and husband Erik; also great nieces and nephews in California and McKinney.
He is preceded in death by his parents Connie and Henry White; Aunt and Uncle Rosalie and Ted Kwas; Aunt Charlotte Camarata; his Step-Son Steve Plumlee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sassy Dogs Rescue, Permian Basin Animal Advocates and/or A Paw In Need Rescue Inc. would be more than appropriate.
