Emma Schafer

GARDEN CITY - Emma Schafer, 91, died peacefully Apr. 28, 2022 at her home in Garden City. She laid in state May 1, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside Services were May 2, at the Garden City Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Ballinger, to Ed and Fannie Mae Cline. She married R.C. Schafer on Jan. 29, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico. She worked as an aide and librarian for the Glasscock County ISD for twenty years. She enjoyed her plants, flowers, birds, and cats. She especially enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the deer, turkeys, and other wild animals graze in her yard and on the feed she provided.

She is survived by her two sons, Johnny Schafer and wife Linda and Richard Schafer and wife Linda of Big Spring, Texas; one granddaughter, Jennifer Holt, and one great grandson, Corey Holt of Forsan, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Frank Cline, Johnny Cline, and Troy Cline; and one sister, Ruby Pattillo.
