Rick Barnett died Dec. 19, 2022, at Care Nursing and Rehab in Early with Hospice Care.
“We rejoice that he is made whole. No more Dementia or pain. He will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends.”
He was born to Russel and Ruth Barnett in Amarillo, on Nov. 29, 1944. He married Linda Haley on June 27, 1986, and they were married for 36 years.
He was raised up on a farm, then he got a job at Claude Bank, worked for the PCA for 14 years and was a loan officer also at First National Bank in Canyon.
Rick and Linda moved from Canyon in 1997 to Rising Star, with People State Bank.
He is survived by his wife Linda Barnett of Rising Star,; daughter Shelly Rudiger and husband Brian of Mansfield; sons Scott Barnett and wife Laurie of Mansfield, and Richard Barnett and wife Tammy of Victoria; daughter Renee’Bingham and husband Donald of Liberty, Utah; 10 grandchildren, Cade, Faith, Tucker, Devin, Logan, Tera and her husband Josh, Caleb, Hope, Creek, and Koltan, and one great grandchild, Makynlee Elaine Wagner.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son Russell Barnett.
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Rick on Dec. 29, at 3 p.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Home, 309 N. E. 4th Street, Cross Plains, Texas.
