STANTON - James Orona, 60 of Stanton, died on Mar. 16, 2023. He was born on Marc.5, 1963, to Sergio Ramon Fernandez and Nellie Asebedo Burkett in San Angelo. He married the love of his life Irma Orona in February 1999. He was a believer of God. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and camping. He enjoyed cooking out for the family and listening to music.
He is preceded in death by his step dad Arturo Orona, mother NellieAsebedo Burkett, father Sergio Ramon Fernandez (Johnny), grandmother Ginger Asebedo, grandfather Manuel Asebedo, brother Steve Andy Orona, and uncles Manuel Asebedo, Charlie Asebedo, and Candy Asebedo.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years Irma Orona; three daughters, Monica Corona (Chris Rivas) of Stanton, Stefani Corona of Stanton, Kriselda Williams (Irby Williams) of Stanton; three sons, James Orona Jr. of Stanton, Colby Orona (Chris Orona) of San Antonio, Jacob Orona (April Orona) of San Antonio; grandchildren Tristyn Williams, Alijah Williams, Logan Williams, Kirby Williams, Josiah Orona, Aiden Orona, brother Mike Burkett; uncle George Asebedo (Connie) of San Angelo, and aunt Marylou Ortegon (Frank) of San Angelo.
Pallbearers were Chris Rivas, James Orona Jr., Alijah Williams, Tristyn Williams, Irby Williams and Colby Orona.
Visitation and rosary were Mar. 21 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Mar. 22.
