MIDLAND - Javier De Lucas Gutierrez was born on July 27, 1955, in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas to Roberto De Lucas and Maria Gutierrez. He was the youngest of four: Alberto, Enrique, Socorro and Javier. Growing up in the mountain range of Zacatecas, he would always describe la Sierra de Morones as such a beautiful, natural gift from God. There he would learn the value of long, hard working days as well as God’s purist gifts in life. During this time, his pure happiness would come from his loving parents, Mother Nature and music.
He was a momma’s boy at heart, loving her immensely. When he was not in the Sierra, he was in the city of Tlaltenango where he would meet and fall in love with whom would be his wife and mother of his only four children, Delia De Lucas. It was always mentioned that the music and celebration of their marriage was carried on for days.
Juan, Edi, Mary and Daisy each held a special place in his heart. As his kids grew older, he formed a loving relationship with each one. Each was different but pure at heart. One would always hear in his voice just how proud he was of each one.
The time he spent with his kids and grandchildren: Justin, Tristan, Laine, Miah, Colten and Eden became one of his most significant highlights and blessings in life. He enjoyed carrying a conversation with each one, as well as with anyone he would meet.
There would be no stranger in his life and in any event, he would be ready to lend a hand where he could. He will always be remembered and carried on in life as a hardworking, humble man that loved and appreciated the outdoor life with his following words, “As long as you have life, God’s blessings and good health what more could you ask for? Echele ganas!”
