MIDLAND - Terry Lynn Britton, 76 of Midland, died on May 29, 2023. A memorial service will be at 10am, June 2, at Fairmont Park Church of Christ. Interment will follow at 3pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. He was born on May 27, 1947, in Lamesa, to Fern and Johnny Britton. He lived many of his growing up years in Portales, NM where his parents were house parents at New Mexico Christian Children's Home.
He married the love of his life Debbie Ross on June 22, 1973. They had 3 children Johnny, Sharon, and Deidra. They lived in Chino, CA, Plainview, Goldsmith, Pecos, Tarzan, and landing in Midland to retire.
He was a kind and loving man who was always willing to help in any way he could. He loved to sing; therefore, he led singing at just about every congregation he attended. One thing he enjoyed as much as singing was talking. He would usually be one of the last ones to leave any gathering.
He loved his family and everyone he met became family. He loved his children, but the grandchildren held his heart. It gave him such joy to take them places like McDonald's, Toys R Us, the children's museum, but mostly to the park to watch them play and help them when they would get stuck. Most importantly he loved God and wanted everyone he met to know God as he did.
He is survived by wife Debbie, of almost 50 years; daughterin- law Jalynna Britton of Plainview; daughters Sharon James of Cleburne, Deidra Delozier and husband Brian of Midland; grandchildren Cadee, Michael, Ryan Britton, Emily and Naomi Davis, and Sarah and Abby Delozier; his sister Carolyn Riley and husband Ron, and brother Keith Williamson and wife Christine and his Uncle Bill Oden and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog Daisy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Johnny. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Mexico Christian Children's Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Brown, Bill Oden, Brad Johnson, Doug Bowen, Clarence Riley, Brian Delozier, Michael Britton, Ryan Britton, Landon Warren, Smokie Thorp, Ronnie Riley and Keith Williamson.
