Pauline Whatley

MIDLAND - Pauline Whatley, 94 of Midland and formerly of Tarzan, died July 3, 2023, after a lengthy difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease and a stroke. She was born Dec. 28, 1928, to Parish and Alice Elizabeth Hanson. She married L. C. Whatley on Aug. 19, 1950, and had a very large loving family. Mother was a great cook, seamstress and home keeper. But most of all she was the best “Momma” a child and adult could have and we will all miss her calls saying, “It’s just your Mom.” She was never just our Mom…so much more than that.

She is preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Cec; her parents, all seven siblings, and granddaughter Stacey Renee Whatley.

She is survived by daughters Paula Adams and husband Milton of Abilene; Barbara Madrid and husband Andrew of Midland; sons Danny Whatley and wife Nancy ofAlvin, Clinton Whatley of Amarillo, and Jim Bob Whatley of Midland. She is also survived by one grandson Tanner; five granddaughters Bridget, Roxi, Danya, Catlin, and Mahayla; fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 10, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring Street, Midland. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. on July 11, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 4400 N. Big Spring, Suite 202, Midland, Texas 79705.
