HILLTOP LAKES - Rebecca Tate, a remarkable woman known for her kind heart and unwavering spirit, died on Dec. 5, 2023, in Hilltop Lakes. She was born on April 13, 1944, to the late Rankin F. O'Neill and Hazel (Sims) O'Neill in Pearsall.

She led a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. She touched the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and grace. She was an avid coach's wife. She loved Coca-Cola, and should have been a poster girl for the company. Rebecca held a special place in her heart for dogs and horses. Rebecca's memory will forever be cherished by her beloved daughter, Shelly Holt, who cherished their bond and shared countless priceless moments together.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Thomas L. Tate of Hilltop Lakes; daughter, Shelly Dee Tate Holt (Mitch) of Graham; grandchildren, Morgan Jezek, Travis Jezek (Courtney), Rankin 'Cy' Holt (Lyndsay), and Brandi Holt Whitlow (Tate); and great-grandchildren, Austin Robinson, Emmerson Jezek, Brazoz Jezek, Kyndal Whitlow, and Carter Whitlow.

As we come together to bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved Rebecca, let us remember her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into our lives. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her legacy will forever live on in our hearts.

May we find solace in the memories we shared with Rebecca and draw strength from the love she showered upon us. Let us honor her by carrying forward the qualities that made her special – her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.

A funeral service honoring Rebecca's life were Dec. 12, at All Around Cowboy Church in Marquez. Pastor of the church, Bro. Lee Weiler, officiated the service. Interment followed in Mill Creek Cemetery in Marquez.

Pallbearers were Mitch Holt, Travis Jezek, Cy Holt, Austin Robinson.
