STANTON - William (Bill) Brooks, 79 of Stanton, died Jan. 3, 2024. There was a viewing at the Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton on Jan. 8, 2024. Funeral service was at the Belvue Church of Christ on Jan. 9 and graveside service took place at Portales Cemetery.
William Brooks was born to Henry Brooks and Betty Black on Feb. 5, 1944 in Roswell, NM. He married his “sugar,” Wilma McBride, on Nov. 23, 1967.
Bill worked for GSA for 30+ years, and after retiring from there he went on to work for Martin County for 15+ years. He was a faithful, lifelong member of the Belvue Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife, and two sons (William Eric Brooks and Craig Ferguson Brooks).
He is survived by his son Aaron Scott Brooks (Paula Brooks); daughter Shelley Ramirez (Eusebio Ramirez Jr.); grandchildren Bonnie Ramirez, Hillary Ramirez, Megan Brooks, Bailey Luna, Aaron Brooks, Whitney Graham, Joshua Brooks, Marshall Brooks, Ashli Brooks, and Mariah Brooks, and many great grandchildren.
