Gregory Marc Briggs

MIDLAND - Gregory Marc Briggs died June 23, 2024. He was born on Oct. 16, 1954, in Stanton to Mary Ivy Briggs and Paul Briggs. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1973 as valedictorian of his class. After high school, he entered the oil business starting with pumping wells for his dad's contract pumping business.

He later went to work for RK Petroleum and then Atkins Petroleum where he was Vice President of Operations. He worked in the oil industry for over forty years and his all-time favorite position was "company man." Marc met Carol Miller in August 2001 at The Ranch dance hall in Midland. They married in Las Vegas on Oct. 22, 2002. They continued their enjoyment of dancing and traveling for many years. They made a point of taking an anniversary trip every October. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed working in his garden with his roses and hibiscus plants. He was an avid reader, could fix anything that was broken, and he was always his family's go to guy on advice or direction on just about any matter that came up in their lives. He is survived by his wife Carol of Midland; sons Russell Briggs and his girlfriend Shari of Austin, and Ryan Briggs of Stanton and his girlfriend Pam; daughter Rebecca Colamarino and her husband Christopher of Plano. He is also survived by Carol's two sons Brian Miller and his wife Angela of Midland and Aaron Miller and his wife Felicia of Garland and two grandchildren Aiden Briggs of Stanton and Cora Miller of Midland. Also surviving Marc is his mom Mary Briggs of Midland, sister Fawn Dillard and her husband David of Kingsland, sister Tami Graham and her husband Bruce and sister Shana Pitts and her husband Dennis of Midland. He was preceded in death by his dad Paul Briggs, his grandparents William and Mae Henson and Eugene and Florence Briggs. A visitation will be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland on June 28, from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service will be on June 29, at 10 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Jan Reed and Reverend Debra Greene. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Midland.

Pallbearers will be his sons Russell and Ryan, Brian Miller, Dale Henson, Bruce Graham, and Dennis Pitts. Honorary pallbearers are his precious grandchildren Aiden Briggs and Cora Miller.
