STANTON - Kyle Lendon Cook, 64, died Aug. 24, 2024 in Stanton. He was born on Oct. 27, 1959 to Eddie and Nelwayne Cook. He was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1978. He farmed most of his life and was successful in several other business ventures in the area. He retired on the lake in Breckenridge, 2012, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ranching.
He is loved and missed by his son, Kevin Cook of Stanton; his daughter, Kayla Nichols, and husband Steven, of Stanton; and his former wife and mother of his children, Charlotte Cook, of Stanton, who was his best friend and loyal caregiver to the very end. Big Daddy was so proud of his three grandsons: Wheeler Cook, Beau Nichols, and Chip Nichols. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Ragan Outlaw and her husband Justin, of Greenwood; his stepson Justin Darden of Big Spring; and his step-grandchildren: Brannon, Bryleigh, Hunter, Kade, and Cason; also, one brother, Kenneth Cook and wife Cheryl, of Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mark Cook; his wife, Melody Choate Cook; a daughter-in-law Erin Wheeler Cook; and one grandchild born in Heaven.
Viewing was Aug. 27, at Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton. Funeral service was at First Methodist Church of Stanton on Aug. 28. He will be placed at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring privately at a later date.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland or First Methodist Church of Stanton. Arrangements were under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
