MIDLAND - Mary Lara Gutierrez died Sept. 12, 2024, in Midland. She was born Nov. 17, 1929, to Antonio and Florencia Lara in Stanton. She spent her early years in Stanton, and later moved to Midland.
Early 1950s Mary moved to Midland, where she met, and married the Love of her Life Arnulfo Gutierrez in 1950. They went on to have 5 children who she loved unconditionally. Mary was a devoted Catholic woman with a caring, nurturing spirit.
She was always up for an adventure. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, going out to eat, garage sales, BINGO, and attending any occasions with her family. Mary worked many years for Penney’s, and caregiving for the Bealle family. Mary was an Amazing Mother, Grandmother, and Friend to all.
To know Mary was to Love Mary, and she will be missed by all those whose lives’ she touched.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Arnulfo Gutierrez, parents Antonio and Florencia Lara, five brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons Jesse Neria, and Ricky Velasco.
She is survived by one sister Ramona Ybarra, one son Ernest Gutierrez; four daughters Teresa Silvas, Dora Bjorle, Margaret Pallanes, and Kathryn Trujillo; 15 grandchildren, many great, and great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was Sept. 17 with rosary recited Sept. 18 at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home. Funeral mass was Sept. 19. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine.
Burial will followed to Resthaven North.
