ODESSA - Jose Fransico Madrid (Frank), 75 of Odessa, died on Sept. 17, 2024. He was born to Fransico and Flora Madrid on Jan. 22, 1949, in Stanton. Frank graduated from Midland High School in 1967 then attended West Texas State University in Canyon. Frank returned to run the family farm after the passing of his Father in 1972. He worked in finance most of his career until he retired in 2016. He was a great storyteller and a jokester. He enjoyed playing pool, chess, poker and working puzzles. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Senior Citizen Center in Odessa. He loved and cherished all his nephews and nieces very much. Frank will most definitely be remembered as the family Peacemaker.
He is preceded in death by both parents, Fransico and Flora Madrid, brothers, Richardo, Benjamin & Juan Carlos Madrid and his sister Guadalupe Madrid.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Andrew Madrid of Killeen; a granddaughter Samantha Madrid of Odessa; sisters Ms. Eva Johnson of San Antonio, Gloria (Jody) Martinez of Austin, Rosa (Tom) Arista of Big Spring; brothers Polo (Zoraida) Madrid of Denton, Armando (Liz) Madrid, and Raul (Rosemary) Madrid of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A Rosary was recited Sept. 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stanton, followed by a Funeral Mass by Father Michael Rodriguez. A reception followed in the Parish Hall.
“Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, Frank’s spirit and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. We find solace in knowing he is at peace with our Lord and Savior.”
