ACKERLY - Melvin “Mel” Williamson, 81 of Ackerly, died Nov. 13, 2025. Visitation was Nov. 17 with family receiving friends at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service was Nov. 18 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Mel was born on Sept. 27, 1944 in Big Spring. He was a lifetime resident of Ackerly and Big Spring. He was also a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mel married Ella Faulks on July 2, 1970 in Big Spring.
Mel is survived by his wife Ella Williamson of Ackerly; son James Williamson (Jada) of Boyd; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters Ruth Williamson and Wanda Moss.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents Van and Myrtle Williamson, daughter Janella Walker, son Van Williamson, and twin brother, Milton Williamson.
