POST - Movelda (Gray) Harp was born on Sept. 6,1930, in Lamesa, to Arvie Loyd and Sarah Cleta (Wilkerson) Gray. She attended Dawson High School and graduated Valedictorian in 1947. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Billy Joe Harp in Welch, on Oct. 15, 1947.

Thelma M. Ditto

BIG SPRING - Thelma M. Ditto died on Jan. 16, 2024, at the age of 92. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Jan. 20, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Jan.

William Brooks

STANTON - William (Bill) Brooks, 79 of Stanton, died Jan. 3, 2024. There was a viewing at the Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton on Jan. 8, 2024. Funeral service was at the Belvue Church of Christ on Jan. 9 and graveside service took place at Portales Cemetery.

Gayland Kent Airhart

LAMESA - Gayland Kent Airhart, 78 of Lamesa, died Jan. 5, 2024. He was born on June 20, 1945, in Lamesa. Graveside Services were Jan. 10, at Dawson County Cemetery. Visitation took place on Jan. 9, at Branon Funeral Home. He attended Klondike High School and later Howard County College.

Leah Jan Hughes

BIG SPRING - Leah Jan Hughes died on Dec. 28, 2023, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Jan. 4, 2024, at 14th & Main Church of Christ in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born April 3, 1956, in Big Spring, to Gerald and Leona (Lancaster) Roman.

Mary Crawford Moore

CHRISTOVAL - Mary Madelyn Crawford Moore, 93 of Christoval, died on Jan. 1, 2024. Madelyn, the daughter of Paul and Sleety Crawford, was born on Jan. 12, 1930, in Stanton, and was raised in Christoval and San Angelo. She was a model wife and mother.

SPRING BRANCH - Dora Aguirre Scott, 71 of Spring Branch, died Dec. 25, 2023. She was born Aug. 27, 1952, to the late Cruz and Eufemia Aguirre of Stanton.

Elvoy Thomason

Elvoy Thomason LUBBOCK - Funeral services for Elvoy Thomason, 91 of Lubbock, and formerly of Seminole, were Dec. 21, at Westside Church of Christ with David Williams officiating. Burial followed at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

STANTON - Juanita Avalos beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died on Dec. 19, 2023. She was born on Nov. 15, 1936, in Robstown, to Trinidad Rubio Sr. and Petra Tanguma. She met the love of her life Pedro in Stanton.

HILLTOP LAKES - Rebecca Tate, a remarkable woman known for her kind heart and unwavering spirit, died on Dec. 5, 2023, in Hilltop Lakes. She was born on April 13, 1944, to the late Rankin F. O'Neill and Hazel (Sims) O'Neill in Pearsall. She led a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion.
