STANTON - Mary Ortiz, 77 of Stanton, died Mar. 25, 2023. She was born on Aug. 10, 1945, to Gavino and Rebecca Ortiz in Hebbronville. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo. Her family was everything to her. She will be missed by many. Visitation and rosary were Mar.

Jerry Cannon

RULE - Jerry Cannon, 76, a longtime resident of Rule, died Mar. 15, 2023. A funeral service was Mar. 18 at the Church of Christ in Haskell, with Paul Leonard officiating. Burial followed at the Rule Cemetery. He was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Haskell, to Jessie (Sturdivant) and John Cannon.

Jerry Wayne Anderson

STANTON - Jerry Wayne Anderson, age 56 of Stanton, died on Mar. 16, 2023. Funeral service was Mar. 21 at the First Baptist Church in Stanton. He was born on April 2, 1966, in Big Spring, to Dewey Anderson and Carol Ringener Anderson.

Velma Ree Hogue

MINEOLA - Mrs. Velma Ree Hogue, age 87 of Mineola, died surrounded by her family on Mar. 17, 2023, in Mineola. She was born on Oct. 1, 1935, in Jones County to the late Jessie Lee Price and Beulah Genella Price.

STANTON - James Orona, 60 of Stanton, died on Mar. 16, 2023. Visitation and rosary were Mar. 21, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Mar. 22. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.

Roberto H. Herrera

MIDLAND - Roberto H. Herrera died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Mar. 8, 2023, in Midland. He was born on June 7, 1937 in Presidio County on the San Esteban Ranch between Ft. Davis and Marfa. As a young boy, he attended Blackwell Elementary in Marfa.

Billy Loyd Mims

SAN ANGELO - Billy Loyd Mims, 88, died Mar. 12, 2023, at The Springs Memory Care in San Angelo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Mar. 16, at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. She was born May 9, 1934, in Stamford, to Annice and J.T. Mims. He married Marlene Kay Mims on Dec. 3, 1955.

STANTON - Oscar Medrano Natividad Jr., 36 of Stanton, died on March 10, 2023. He was born on Nov. 9, 1986, to Norma and Oscar Natividad in Midland.

Hercilia B. Rios

STANTON - Hercilia B. Rios, 87 of Stanton, died on March 5, 2023. She was born on Nov. 2, 1935, to Agapito and Otilia Barron in Runge. She enjoyed playing bingo and listening to music. You could always find her outdoors, especially in her garden planting flowers.

Lillian Marie Carroll

STANTON - Lillian Marie (Holder) Carroll, 60 of Stanton, died Mar. 3, 2023. A Memorial Service will be at 2pm, Mar. 11, at First Baptist Church in Stanton. She was born Feb. 26, 1963, in Big Spring, to parents Martin Holder and Dela Holder. She married Charles Carroll in March of 1981.
