SWEETWATER - Betty Jean Taylor Scott died peacefully at her home Dec. 10, 2021, at the age of 86, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Nolan County, July 26, 1935 to Milton and Louise Taylor. She married Thornton Scott Nov. 1, 1955.

Mary Arguello Marquez

STANTON - Mary Arguello Marquez, 80 of Stanton, died on Nov. 24, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Rosary was recited on Nov. 29, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass was Nov. 30, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Fred Robert Hall

MIDLAND - Fred Robert Hall, 96, died Nov. 21, 2021 at his home in Midland. He was born in Stanton, on Jan. 30, 1925 to the late Charles Robert and Freddie Lou (Metcalf) Hall. He graduated from Monahans High School, Class of '42.

Deanna June Swails Whitaker

STANTON - Deanna June Swails Whitaker, known to all as “Peachie”, died Nov.17 in Midland. She was born on June 6, 1939 in Midland, to Beatrice and J.T. Swails. As a young girl she accepted Christ at Calvary Baptist Church on South Main.

Anthony R. Aragon

ODESSA - Anthony R. Aragon, 36 of Odessa, died on Nov. 20, 2021. He was born on Aug. 30,1985, to Benny Aragon and Soila Salgado in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was such a beloved, beautiful, caring soul. He loved his family unconditionally.

Josephine Jones

STANTON - Josephine “Tiny” Calflooking Jones, a full-blood member of the Blackfeet Nation, died from effects of COVID on Nov.3, 2021. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Lee Jones, and daughter, Rita Jones Feister.

Mikel Bridge

STANTON - Mikel Bridge, 72, loving husband to his sweet heart Judy Bridge who he met and was married to in May of 1993, died Nov. 3, 2021. He was born in Brownfield, on Oct. 21, 1949, to Ervin and Virginia Bridge. He attended and graduated from Stanton schools in 1970.

Janice Lloyd

WENDELL, ID - Janice Jim Houston Lloyd, 86 of Wendell, Idaho, died Nov. 3, 2021 at her home. She was the daughter of Anna Mae Tom and A. R. Houston of Stanton. She married Carl Ray Lloyd, Aug. 16, 1952, and the succession of adventures and children followed.

Morris Hasting

STANTON - Morris Ray Hasting, 78 of Stanton, died Nov. 4, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11am Nov. 15, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. He was born on Aug. 5, 1943, in Midland, to Lloyd and Mildred Hasting.

Walter Franklin Chambers III

HECTOR, AR - Walter Franklin (Feller) Chambers III, 56, of Hector, AR died Nov. 3, 2021 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born June 14, 1965 in Midland, son of Walter II (Buddy) and Rosie Chambers.
