WEST TEXAS - Dove hunting season for West Texas begins on Wednesday and Texas law makes life easy for hunters. According to Texas Law for hunting animals that don’t require a tag, you can show proof of license from your cell phone. It’s a way to show proof of your hunting license.

GRADY - The transition for Grady’s new head football coach, Jurmain Matta, has been pretty smooth despite the limited time he has had with the team. Matta comes to Grady after spending three years at Bronte. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for six years for Vance Jones at Balmorhea.

GARDEN CITY - Garden City football coach Jeff Jones said his team is excited about this season with so many starters returning. The Bearkats will have five offensive starters and all six defensive starters returning for the 2021 season.

MARTIN COUNTY - Many athletes from Stanton and Grady have been hitting the gym this summer in preparation for their upcoming football and cross county seasons. “We have averaged over 30 boys and 30 girls showing up to workouts each day,” said Stanton Athletic Director Cody Hogan.
