Grady soars past Eagles, stays in playoff hunt

GRADY – The Grady varsity boys hosted Midland TLCA on Tuesday in a game where boys teams needed to win to stay in the playoff hunt. Grady opened the game with back to back 11 point quarters but Midland stayed on the Wildcat’s heals with 19 points to trail at halftime 22-19.

Stanton freshmen teams pick up impressive wins

STANTON – Both of Stanton’s freshmen teams were in action over the past week and both notched wins on their season record belts. The Lady Buffs battled Ozona late last week.

Grady destroys Midland TLCA, Sands in district competition

GRADY – Grady’s junior high Wildcats flexed their muscles on Midland TLCA and Sands with a pair of impressive performances. Against TLCA, the Wildcats scored seven points in both the first and second quarter for a 14-6 halftime lead.

Junior high Lady Wildcats split games with Midland, Sands

GRADY – Over the past week Grady’s junior high Lady Cats experienced the highs of winning and the lows of defeat. Last Thursday Grady defeated Midland TLCA 23-11. Raegan Dennis finished with a game high seven points and Kaelyn Titsworth added six points.

Junior high Buffaloes take on Reagan County

STANTON – Junior high basketball teams took the court on Monday against the Reagan County Owl. The seventh grade girls A team hard a tuff time losing 36-17. Allesandra Glover led Stanton in scoring with seven points and Allyson Barrera added five points.

Borden County hands Grady second district loss

BORDEN COUNTY – The Borden County Coyotes were too tough for the Grady Wildcats last week as Borden County held home court winning both the varsity and junior varsity games. In the varsity game, the two teams were neck and neck through the first half with Borden County taking a marginal 19-17 lead.

Another rivalry game in the books, Sands bests Grady

GRADY – It was a rough night for the Grady Junior High B team as the Wildcats hosted the Sands Mustangs on Monday. Sands opened up a 13-4 lead by halftime and went on to record the 21-11 victory. “This young group has improved all season. All the kids did well on both ends of the floor.

Wildcats begin district play with loss, win

GRADY – The Grady Wildcats varsity started the district season with a loss but are back on the winning track with a win over Garden City on Tuesday at Tony Sawyer Memorial Court in Grady. The junior varsity won both its district games.

Lady Buffs split district games with Crane, Reagan County

STANTON – The Stanton high school girls were in action this past week against district opponents Crane and Reagan County. First up was a tough Crane Lady Birds which took an early 13-5 lead.

Lady Cats rattle off back-to-back wins

GRADY - The Grady Lady Cats picked up two crucial two district games to go 2-1 in district play. Grady defeated Klondike Friday 42-41 in overtime and beat Garden City Tuesday night 47-45.
