- The Garden City Bearkats and Grady Wildcats faced off in their final district game of the season last Friday at Bearkats Stadium.Grady started the game strong, scoring on its opening drive with a 22-yd Braxton Dillard touchdown.

Grady Golf competed at the Andrews Varsity Fall Golf Tournament Nov. 1&2. Part of the team was participating at the Class A State Cross Country meet. Girls; Audrey Marler was the Champion Medalist shooting 74, 80.

Buena Vista slips by Garden City

GARDEN CITY – No. 4-ranked Imperial Buena Vista held off Garden City at Bearkat Stadium on Friday to stay unbeaten on the year.Garden City (2-6, 0-2) had one of its best games of the year and kept pace with the Longhorns yardfor- yard but came up just short on the scoreboard.

Garden City comes off bye week ready for district leader Buena Vista

- The Garden City Bearkats will be well rested this week when they host Buena Vista after their scheduled bye week.Buena Vista is currently leading the District 4-1A with a 2-0 record after beating Grady and Rankin.

Grady rebounds from loss to crush Marfa

- The Grady Wildcats kept their playoff hopes alive with a rebound win over Marfa last week.After a let down in the district opener against Buena Vista, Grady stomped Marfa 58-18 to improve to 1-1 and stay tied with Rankin for the second playoff spot.

- It sure wasn’t pretty in the early minutes of Stanton’s district opener against Grape Creek, but the Buffaloes rallied and cruised to a 35-12 victory.Stanton hosted Grape Creek last Friday in the District 4-AAA opener for the Buffaloes.

– The Grady Wildcats had the unlucky draw of opening District 4-A DI action against No. 5 Buena Vista. The Longhorns were undefeated entering the game and the team’s offensive and defensive talents were on full display.

Rankin rolls Garden City in district opener

– The Garden City Bearkats opened District 4-A DI play on the road in Rankin.The game started like a prize fight on HBO with the two heavyweights trading blows. Garden City was the first to strike with a Presley Jost 5-yd touchdown pass to Preston Dehlinger on the Bearkat’s opening drive.

- Garden City’s cross country teams were in Mertzon on Wednesday for the district cross country meet.The Lady Kats finished as the District Runner-Up and the whole team will be headed to the Region II meet on Oct. 22 in Grand Praire.The team was led by Claire Eggemeyer who finished fourth.
