– The Stanton Buffaloes opened the district season at home on Tuesday with a heartbreaking loss to Odessa Compass.Everything was going good for Stanton in the first half as the Buffaloes built a strong 27-17 halftime lead.

- The Garden City Bearkats took on the visiting Irion County Hornets on Tuesday in the district opener for both teams. The two teams mirrored each other‘s first quarter offensive output scoring eight points each.

Junior high Lady Cats crush Midessa

– The Grady junior high girls finished up their last game before the Christmas Break with a 29-10 victory over Midessa.The Lady Cats had a hard time scoring in the first half and could only manage to put 10 points on the board to go into the locker rooms at the half with a 10-8 lead.

Lady Bearkats keep racking up the wins

– The Lady Kats basketball teams continue to impress opponents with the quality of play. The varsity Lady Kats have improved their record to 10-2 on the season while the junior varsity remained undefeated at 14-0.

Buffaloes finish third in Hooptown

- The Stanton Buffaloes had a good weekend and finished third in the annual Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic.Stanton opened the tournament with a 42-37 victory over Colorado City.

Grady junior high teams drop two games

– The Grady junior high basketball teams were in action recently against a couple tough opponents.The Grady ‘B’ team took on rival Sands on Dec. 2.The Mustangs opened the contest with a 6-2 run and led 8-4 at the half. A huge fourth quarter clinched the victory for Sands, 20-8.
