Wildcats back in action following Thanksgiving break

- Grady’s basketball teams were back in action this week following the Thanksgiving holiday. Some of the Wildcat teams continued dominating opponents while some of the other teams looked like they ate too much turkey and were still sluggish.

Lady Bearkats basketball programs are off to a perfect start in 2022

GARDEN CITY Basketball season if off to a great start in Garden City with all four of the girls’ programs undefeated heading into Thanksgiving Break. The Garden City varsity Lady Kats have sprinted out to a 4-0 record with blowout wins against Iraan, McCamey, Odessa Compass, and Grape Creek.

GRADY - It was a good week for Wildcat basketball with multiple teams earning victories over some stiff competition. The Grady varsity Lady Cats picked up two wins this past week improving to 3-1 heading into Thanksgiving Break. The first win was an impressive 54-33 drumming of Rankin.

Junior high Wildcats look to have promising seasons

GRADY – Basketball season is officially underway for the Grady sub-varsity Wildcats. The seventh grade Wildcats started the season with a massive 34-4 victory over Klondike. “We took a district win against Klondike to open the season.

Stanton junior high Lady Buffaloes open seasons, nearly sweep Big Spring

STANTON – The Stanton junior high girls’ basketball teams had a successful first week winning three of four games against Big Spring on Monday. The seventh grade A team obliterated the Steers 60-2.

Grady Lady Wildcats looking good early

GRADY – Basketball season is underway for the high school and junior high Lady Wildcats. Grady’s varsity team split its first two games with Westbrook and Ira. In the opener against Westbrook a slow start hampered Grady’s efforts losing 33-26.

Varsity Wildcats start season with hot hand winning first two games

GRADY – The Grady Wildcats have started the season off with two straight victories over the Midessa Warriors and San Angelo Cornerstone. On Nov. 11, Grady took on the Midessa Warriors and won a close hard-fought contest.

STATE CROSS COUNTRY

Garden City’s fabulous freshman Emy Schwartz and Sadie Fuchs finished 73rd and 80th out of 149 runners at the State XC Meet running a 14:19 and 14:30. Grady sophomore Emma Parker finished 32nd with a time of 13:33.

Miserable start dooms Garden City, costs Bearkats district title

– No. 4-ranked Rankin jumped out to a 44-6 lead over No. 3-ranked Garden City and then cruised to a victory in the West Texas Rumbleweed Classic at Red Devi Stadium on Friday. The game started as a defensive battle with both teams trading turnovers on downs.
