Junior High Buffs run at C-City

COLORADO CITY - The Stanton Buffaloes junior high school track teams finally got to participate in the Colorado City Relays after initially being postponed due to weather. Seventh Grade Girls Coahoma won the team tile with 194 points. Stanton finished fourth with 94 points. Long Jump 4.

GARDEN CITY - The tennis courts in Garden City have been busy this week as teams battled for District 8-A bragging rights. Garden City won the varsity boys team title. The Boys Doubles duo of Weston Jost and Jesus Fernandez won the District Championship and qualified for Regionals.

STANTON - Stanton Buffaloes Varsity claimed a 12-11 victory on Tuesday, despite a big push by Crane in the third inning. The big inning for Crane came thanks to singles by P Smith, A Rodriguez, and B Alexander and a home run by J Wilis.

GARDEN CITY - The Grady Wildcat tennis teams were in Garden City this week for the District 8-A Tennis Tournament. In the varsity boys singles division, Chapman Sims was unbeatable and won the district title and qualilfied for regionals.

STWeLING CITY – The Garden City Bearkats track and field athletes competed in the Sterling City Relays on Apr. 1. Water Valley won the team title in the junior varsity boys division with 145.5 points out of 10 teams. Sterling City finished second with 102 points and Robert Lee was third with 77.

ODESSA — The Garden City and Grady golf teams competed in the District 8-A Tournament on Monday at Ratliff Ranch in Odessa. Both the Garden City boys and girls team won the district title and qualified for Regionals. The boys finished with a first place total of 408 strokes.

GLASSCOCK COUNTY - The Glasscock County UIL Academic Team competed in the District Meet on Saturday. Once all the event were over and the scores tabulated, the Bearkat’s were District Runner-up. There are 20 students advancing to Regionals on April 22 at South Plains College in Levelland.
