LEVELLAND - Garden City’s top tennis players traveled to Levelland this week to compete in the Region I Class A Tennis Tournament at South Plains College in Levelland. Carson Godwin compete in the Boys Singles Bracket.

Stanton takes high-scoring game from Reagan County, 13-8

BIG LAKE - Bats were blistered in a high-scoring affair Tuesday night as the visiting Stanton High School Buffaloes defeated the Reagan County 13-8. Stanton got things started in the second inning when R. Murry was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

REAGAN COUNTY - Stanton and Reagan County were having a good ol’ fashioned pitching duel Tuesday night, until the Owls bats came to life late in the contest. After three scoreless innings, Stanton managed a couple runners and even scooted one across the plate for a 1-0 lead.

23 Bearkats, 19 Wildcats qualify to compete in area district track meet

GARDEN CITY – District 8A track and field athletes made the trip to Garden City last Friday to compete for a district title, and a trip to the Area Meet. Athletes finishing in the top four places earned a spot at the Area Meet in Garden City on Apr. 14.

GARDEN CITY – The Grady Wildcats and Garden City Bearkats junior high track and field teams competed in the District 8A competition on Apr. 7 in Garden City.

STANTON - Even though Stanton gave up three runs in the third inning, they still defeated Sonora 15-5 on Friday. Sonora's big inning was driven by Abigail Fuentes, an error on a ball put in play by Montseratt De La Fuente, and a double by Pamela Perez.

Lady Buffs claim lead in sixth to beat Reagan County

STANTON - Stanton’s varsity softball team took the lead late and handed Reagan County a crushing 13-11 loss last Friday. The game was tied at 11 with Stanton batting in the bottom of the sixth when R. Murry homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
