EL PASO - Billie Jean Lively died peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 24, 2020 at home. Billie Jean Lively, born Billie Jean Vandever, was born to Charles and Gertrude Vandever on Sept. 26, 1930, in Monroe, Louisiana.

She graduated with honors from Beaumont High School and continued her education when she graduated from Baylor School of Nursing with her RN degree. There she met and married the love of her life, Dr. Bill Lively, DDS, a student of Baylor School of Dentistry.

She brought fun and laughter to every endeavor. She loved playing duplicate bridge and went on the earn her Life Masters. Her smile, laughter, and soft-spoken voice with a slight Southern cadence welcomed family, friends, and strangers alike.

She is survived by her sister Marie Woody of Stanton; children Jeanne and Dr. Robert Henderson of El Paso, Janelle and Cary Pate of Lubbock, Dr. Charles and Melanie Lively of Odessa, and Mark and Jenny Lively of Ruidoso, NM; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
