PLEASANTON - Alice Capps died Mar. 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Ted and Myrtle (Myrick) Stewart in May of 1938 in Martin County.

She grew up in Martin County and graduated from Stanton High School. She married George Capps in July of 1960. She attended Wayland Baptist College and taught English while George was in Vietnam. After traveling as a military family, they settled in Pleasanton after George Retired in the summer of 1973.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Pleasanton. She worked at Martin Abstract and was a longtime employee of Troell Chevrolet, as a title clerk. She fully retired in 2008. At her church, Alice played piano for the Senior Sunday School department and volunteered at Vacation Bible School. She played handbells and helped with the fall festival. She also helped decorate for baby and wedding showers.

She enjoyed eating out with family and friends, she loved to read and really enjoyed crossword puzzles. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Alice was always loving, giving, and serving.

She is survived by her son, Carl Capps and wife Mahnaz, and daughters, Tessa White, and Belinda Jaksik and husband Alfred. She is also survived by her brother, Teddy Stewart and wife Clara; grandchildren, Graham and Alyssa White, and George Henry and wife Melissa, and greatgranddaughter, Lillian Henry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Capps, Jr.; parents, and sister, Kathy Stewart.

Visitation will be April 2, from 10 am until service time at 11am at First Baptist Church, 400 Reed Street in Pleasanton.

Services will conclude at the church.

Committal services and interment will be April 26, at 1 pm, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road in San Antonio.
