STANTON - Margaret Theresa Franks, 94 of Stanton, died Dec. 6, 2023. Services were Dec. 9, at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. Visitation was Dec. 8, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. She was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Stanton, on the family farm to Walter Curtis Flanagan and Annie (Peters) Flanagan. She attended school in Stanton, one of the last to go to the local convent school. In March 1953, she married Alfred Franks and lived in Martin and Midland Counties all of her life.
She is survived by her two sons George (wife) Donna and James (wife) Phyllis; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Alfred, one brother Curtis and one sister Annie Laurie Fox.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Martin County Senior Center, where she enjoyed many happy times.
Pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church where she worshiped for many years.
