MIDLAND - Dorothy Allene Pinkston died on Dec. 6, 2023, in Midland, with family by her side, at the age of 89 years old. She was born in Nugent, Jones County, to Ila R. and Barney G. Mims on June 1, 1934. After relocating to Lenora, she graduated from Stanton High School in 1952. She then married Terrel A. Pinkston (deceased) on July 18, 1953, and had two sons Dan and Bill Pinkston. They resided in Stanton where she worked at Cap Rock Electric in the billing department for over 20 years. They moved to Amarillo in 1991, where she enjoyed her painting, and gardening very much, and attended The First Christian Church on Hillside Road.
She was predeceased by her father Barney Mims; her mother Ila Mims; one sister Christine Barnett; and one brother Douglas Mims.
Survivors include two brothers Clay and Jack Mims; nephew Michael Barnett; along with many cousins; and two sons Dan and Bill Pinkston.
Services will be at First Methodist Church in Stanton, Texas, 208 E. Saint Anna St., Stanton, Texas 79782, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023.
