MIDLAND - Larry Don Brookshire, 81 of Midland, died on Feb. 3, 2024. He was born July 14, 1942, in San Diego, California to L.D. and Modelle Brookshire.
He grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School. Shortly thereafter he started his own metal business, Don's Metals and later A-1 Metals. He enjoyed watching football and spending time with close friends. One of his favorite places was his pond near his home.
He married Patsy Ruth on Nov. 28, 1994, the loving wife who stood by his side through thick and thin.
He is survived by his children, Robert Brookshire and wife Leann of Austin; Trina Falcon of Andrews; bonus daughters, Susie Lindley of Ingleside; Kim Bryand of Stanton; Lisa Morgan and husband Frank of Sanger; and brother Bill Brookshire and wife Glenda of Caddo Mills.
He and Patsy Ruth were blessed with sixteen grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ruth Brookshire of Midland; parents L.D. and Modelle Brookshire of Brownsboro; sister and brother-in-law Kay and David Rumbo of Chandler; and son-in-law Charlie Falcon of Andrews.
A private family graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
