MIDLAND - Jose S. Gonzalez, 66, of Midland, passed away on Oct. 7, 2025, in Big Spring.
Jose was born in Alice to Zaragosa and Esperanza Gonzalez on Nov. 22, 1958. He worked in oil field construction for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and barbecuing.
Jose is survived by his wife Astrid Cruz Gonzalez of Stanton; children Laurie Gonzalez of Granbury, Christine (Larry) Casias, Fabiola Garza, Vennessia Benetiz, Vennessa Benitez (Trey), Juan Carlos Garza, Elaine Ortiz Cruz all of Midland, and Astrid Ortiz Cruz, of Mount Orab, OH; siblings Samuel Gonzalez (Anita) and Zaragosa Gonzalez Jr both of Stanton, Diamantia Villareal (Juan) of Houston, Elma Rios of Corpus Christi, Ernestina Valdez of Alice, Homero Gonzalez, Odelia Ramos (Noel), Luisa Morin (Adam) and Omar Gonzalez all of Stanton; several grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Zaragosa and Esperanza Gonzalez, his brother Tomas Gonzales, his sister Nieves Moreno, and his granddaughter Faith Betancur.
Visitation will be at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home on Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. A Chapel service will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, on Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ben Chavez officiating. Burial to immediately follow service.
