KERMIT– The Stanton Lady Buffaloes seventh grade basketball team competed in the District Tournament last weekend and finished third place.
Stanton opened the tournament with a big win over Presidio. The Lady Buffs took an early 9-0 lead and held a 17-4 halftime advantage.

- The Grady Wildcats split their final two district games to finish with a 7-3 record and a third place seed for the Class lAplayoffs.
Last Friday, Grady battled Dawson on the road in the Dragon Den. While the Dragon should have been the team breathing fire, they only managed a puff of smoke.

Grady Lady Wildcats’ playoff season started and ended Tuesday night with a loss to Whitharral in the Class 1A Bi-District game at Brownfield High School.
Neither team was able to get any momentum in the first quarter as play was continuously stopped with foul after foul.

Junior High Lady Kats wrap up season

GARDEN CITY- The Garden City Lady Kats junior high basketball team concluded their season last week with a win over district foe Bronte.
They also placed second in the Borden County Junior High Tournament the previous weekend.

Buffaloes beat Crane to stay in fourth place

CRANE– The Stanton Buffaloes picked up a big road district victory over the Crane Golden Cranes on Tuesday.
The Buffs were the better team in three of the four quarters, outscoring Crane 12-8 in both the first and second quarters and then going 13-10 in the third for a commanding 37-26 lead.

FORSAN– Stanton Powerlifters were in Forsan over the weekend and the Lady Buffs placed second in the team standings.
Individual results (squat, bench, deadlift, and total).
Picking up gold medals for the Lady Buffs were Paisley Carby, Brittyn Carson, Emery Barnes, and Madison Mabry.

Eighth grade lady Buffs take second place

KERMIT– Stanton’s eighth grade girls basketball team wrapped up the season with a second place finish at the district tournament in Kermit last weekend.
The Lady Buffs opened the weekend obliterating Odessa Compass Academy. Stanton put together an outstanding performance to crush the Cougars 46-6.

Lady Cats finish third, open playoffs with Whitharral

GRADY- The Grady High School Lady Wildcats completed district play last week and finished third in the district standings advancing to the playoffs.
The Lady Cats traveled to Sands last Friday falling 3531 in a close game. The Lady Cats jumped out to an early lead to start the first quarter.

– The Grady Wildcats suffered a tough loss to fall into a three way tie for first with a couple games left in district play.
Last Friday, Grady hit the road for an always difficult contest against the Sands Mustangs in Ackerly.
