Buffaloes roam at Tall City Invite

MIDLAND– Stanton’s cross country teams were up early last weekend to run in the Midland Tall City Invitational. Here are the results for Stanton High School and Junior high.

Cooper Collier won the Junior Showmanship Contest

Cooper Collier won the Junior Showmanship Contest in back-to-back days at the Back to School Bash in Waco on Aug. 5 & 6. Collier previously won four Pee-Wee showmanship awards in the same series in 2017 and 2018.

Jaybirds beat Kats in season opener

JAYTON – Garden City opened its football season with a 68-20 loss to No. 5 Jayton at Jaybird Stadium last Thursday night. The Bearkats put together some impressive drives to score three touchdowns but it’s the team’s youth and inexperience that allowed Jayton to take the victory.

Bearkat cross country running well early

ELDORADO– Garden City went to Eldorado last week to compete in the second cross country meet of the season. The Lady Kats Cross Country team was the Top 1A team at the Eldorado Meet, finishing 7th overall. Emy Schwartz was the top runner for Garden City, placing 12th of 133 runners.

Grady comes up short against Amherst

GRADY– The Grady Wildcats opened the 2023 football season at home last Friday with a 52-20 loss to the Amherst Bulldogs. It was a roller coaster night for the Wildcats with some really electric plays and some other not so impressive mistakes. “Offensively, we were able to move the ball real well.

Wildcats shine in Tall City

MIDLAND- The Grady Cross Country teams ran at the Midland Tall City Invitational this past weekend. The High School girls team finished 4th overall in the small school division. Macie Stack and Emma Parker finished in the top 20.

Buffaloes too much for Slaton, look to build confidence in Lamesa

– The stands at Buffalo Stadium were alive and rocking last Friday evening as Stanton hosted Slaton for the first scrimmage of the season. While expectations for the Buffaloes and first year head coach Billy Rushing are low to start the season, the play and execution at the scrimmage are promising.

Wildcats passing game shines in scrimmage with Holy Cross

GRADY– The Grady Wildcats welcomed Holy Cross to town on Friday for the first scrimmage of the season. It was a great evening of back-and-forth action for both teams resulting in great learning and coaching opportunities.
