BIG SPRING - David Petree, 77 of Big Spring died May 11, 2020. Graveside services were at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Big Spring to Georgia and Glen Petree.
He worked for the Highway Department for 35 years. He was a lifetime resident of Martin and Howard County. He was a Methodist.
He was the greatest fudge maker. He loved his westerns, especially John Wayne.
He is survived by his son David Christopher Petree of Big Spring; sister Caryl Henderson and her husband Larry of Big Spring; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous grandchildren, including Lana Saverance and her children: Brylee, Landyn, Logan and Kaidie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren (who were twins); brother: Paul Petree; and his sister: Betty Wagley.
