SPUR - Frankie Ruth McAlpin, 74, of Spur, died peacefully on Aug.21, 2020. She was born to Calvin Frank and Johnnie Ruth (Brown) Walker on Nov. 14, 1945, in Santa Anna.
She worked several professions in her lifetime, retiring as a dispatcher for South Plains Electric Coop in 2012. She was a lifelong resident of Spur, Texas. She was a loving friend, mother, and grandmother; and very protective of her family. She was a firecracker. You never had to wonder her opinion on life because she was willing to share. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her food with friends and coworkers. She had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed laughing at herself and her experiences.
She was survived by her son, J. Don McAlpin and wife Patty of Marble Falls; grandchildren, Ryan Artzer and Tiffany Artzer, of Stanton, and Kate McAlpin and Libby McAlpin of Marble Falls; brother, Freddie Walker of Marble Falls and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Don McAlpin, and daughter, Tonya Artzer.
