Four Wildcat’s advance to State in academic UIL

LUBBOCK - Grady ISD had a wonderful day on Apr. 17 at the Region I Class A at Lubbock Christian University as four students performed well enough to advance to the State level.

Nine Wildcats headed to Region I track meet

GARDEN CITY – Grady’s high school track teams competed in the Area 7-8 Track and Field Championships on Apr. 9 at Garden City High School. Athletes finishing in the top four places qualify for the Region I Class A meet at South Plains College in Levelland on Apr. 23 and 24.

STANTON – The high school track teams competed in the Area 5-6 Track and Field Championships last Thursday at High School. Athletes finishing in the top four places qualify for the Region I Class AAA meet at Abilene Christian University Track and Field Stadium on Apr. 23 and 24 in Abilene.

Stanton clinches lead late to defeat Coahoma

STANTON - Stanton Buffaloes junior varsity Red took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Coahoma on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Stanton batting in the top of the sixth when Tyler Waggoner singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides.

Bearkats, Welch heading to State

LUBBOCK – The Garden City golf teams won their respective Region I-1A Tournament titles on Tuesday and Grady’s Braden Welch posted some low scores to earn a trip to the State Golf Tournament. The Garden City girls won by five strokes over Happy with a 391-418—809 total at the Reese Golf Center.

Lady Buffs rally late for 19-18 victory

STANTON – It wasn’t the Fourth of July but rockets were being blasted at the Stanton and Reagan County district softball game Tuesday night in Stanton. Reagan County started the game on fire taking an 11-5 lead through the first three inning.

Grady advances 13 to area track meet in Garden City

GARDEN CITY - The Grady Wildcats were in Garden City last week competing in the Disrict 8A Track and Field Meet. The top our athletes in each varsity division event qualify for the Area 7-8 Track and Field Meet.

Stanton obliterates Sonora on the diamond

SONORA - The Stanton Buffaloes softball team picked up a big win last week with a 15-6 thumping of Sonora. Stanton opend the game with five runs in the top of the first inning and added one more in the second.
