Grady advances 13 to area track meet in Garden City

GARDEN CITY - The Grady Wildcats were in Garden City last week competing in the Disrict 8A Track and Field Meet. The top our athletes in each varsity division event qualify for the Area 7-8 Track and Field Meet.

Stanton obliterates Sonora on the diamond

SONORA - The Stanton Buffaloes softball team picked up a big win last week with a 15-6 thumping of Sonora. Stanton opend the game with five runs in the top of the first inning and added one more in the second.

Welch takes second

ODESSA - Grady junior Braden Welch placed second at the District Golf Meet on Mar. 29 and Apr. 5. Welch shot a 79 on both days for a two day total of 158. Nick Lara of Garden City finished first with a two day total of 150 (80, 70).

Stanton freshman golfer headed to Regional meet

BIG SPRING – The Stanton Buffaloes will be represented at the Region I-AAA Golf Tournament following two good rounds by freshman Brayden Doshier at the District 5-3A Golf Tournament, Wednesday at Comanche Trail Golf Course.

Wildcat track teams run at Whiteface Relays

WHITEFACE - The Grady High School Track teams competed in the Antelope/Eagle Relays in Whiteface this past Friday. All three teams had a great showing. The Junior Varsity boys finished 3rd as a team. The Varsity boys team finished 4th . The Varsity girls finished 2nd overall as a team.

Short, Griffin win Wink tennis meet

WINK - Grady High School netters brought home a bunch of hardward from the Wink Tennis Tournament last Thursday. Schools attending the tournament were Alpine, Crane, Fort Davis, Grady, Reagan County junior varsity, Van Horn, and Wink junior varsity.

Smith places fifth at state meet

ABILENE - Stanton senior Ashton Smith competed at the Division 2 boys' state powerlifting meet in Abilene on Mar. 27. He ended up 5th in the 242 lb. class with a total lift of 1585. He accomplished this by only getting 3 lifts on the day, his opener on squat and bench then his last lift on deadlift.

Grady golfer shoots 79

ODESSA - Grady’s Braden Welch sits atop the District 8-A leader board with a 79 after Round 1 at Odessa Ratliff Ranch Golf Course on March 29. Round two is scheduled for April 5 at Ratliff Ranch Golf Course.
