Coahoma sneaks past district rival Stanton 20-16

COAHOMA – The Coahoma Bulldogs scored the only touchdown in the second half to overtake the Stanton Buffaloes for its first win in District 4-3A Division II play on Friday at Bill Easterling Memorial Stadium in Coahoma.

Grady distance runners prep for disrtict meet

LUBBOCK - Grady’s high school cross country teams have had a busy couple weeks. The varsity boys competed in the Lubbock Invitational Cross Country meet on Oct. 10 and the varsity girls ran at Romp in the Park in Lamesa on Oct. 17. The Wildcats had two runners place in the top 15 to earn a medal.

Junior high Lady Cats win district title

LAMESA - The Grady junior high girls won the District 8 cross county meet on Oct. 19 in Lamesa. “We had four girls medal for finishing in the top 10,” said Grady coach Jacinda Langen. “I am so proud of every one of these young ladies. They have stayed after school to practice and worked very hard.

Junior high Wildcats come up short against Buena Vista

GRADY - Grady Junior High battled Buena Vista Thursday and fell short 48-12. Gunner Cherry led the Wildcats with 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Marcus Brown had 28 yards on the ground, Charles Deatherage added eight. Cherry led the defense with seven tackles.

STANTON – Stanton could not match Lubbock Roosevelt’s fire power last Friday and lost the District 4 opener 28-18. Despite another loss added to the Buffaloes record, Stanton played a magnificent game that should make the team and coaches proud.

Games more meaningful as district football starts for Stanton Friday

STANTON - After each playing five non-district opponents, Stanton and Lubbock Roosevelt open the District 4-3A Division II season this week. Stanton (2-3) hosts No. 20 Roosevelt (5-0) on Friday, at Buffalo Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

Grady extends win streak with 62-14 thumping of Robert Lee

GRADY – The Grady Wildcats winning streak was extended to three games following a 62-14 homecoming victory over Robert Lee on Friday. Grady jumped out to a quick 20-0 lead off two Frankie Jimenez touchdown runs and a Caden Hayes touchdown run. Arath Alarcon converted one point after attempt.
