STANTON – The Stanton varsity girls’ basketball team hosted the Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic over the weekend at Stanton High School. The Lady Buffs opened the tournament with a tough Wink team on Thursday night.

Wildcats claim consolation crown at Wink Tourney

WINK - The Grady Junior Varsity Lady Cats competed in the Wink Junior Varsity Tournament this past weekend. The Lady Cats played four games winning three and losing one to claim the Consolation Championship part of the bracket. In the first game, the Lady Cats beat Crane JV 29-10.

No. 19 Grady wins another tournament

IRA - Grady’s Lady Cats varsity won the Ira Tournament last weekend. Grady opened the tournament against a talent O’Donnell team. The Lady Cats trailed by 15 points early in the second half but an impressive run earned Grady a 56-44 win. Raina Short finished with a game high 35 points.

GARDEN CITY - The Grady varsity girls basketball team traveled to Garden City over the weekend and crushed the competition winning the Bearkat Klassic tournament. Grady opened the tournament last Thursday with a decisive 36-29 win over Sterling City. Raina Short had a game high 16 points.

MIDLAND - Grady’s junior high boy’s basketball team had an outstanding performance Monday night beating Midland TLCA 49-11. Grady started the game with a 10-5 run and held TLCA scoreless in the second quarter to take a 20-5 halftime advantage.

MIDLAND - Grady’s junior high girls played at Midland TLCA on Monday and came away with two wins. The seventh grade won 12-5. Nayce McMorries had five points, Selig Burge three, Ariana Rodriguez two, and Rylan O'Donnell two.

GARDEN CITY - Grady’s varsity boy’s basketball team had a rough weekend at the Bearkat Klassic winning just two of their five competitions. The Wildcats opened the tournament on Thursday against Eldorado. The Eagles used two strong first half quarters to take a 27-16 lead.
The Stanton Buffaloes lost to Alpine Tuesday night in Stanton. The Buffs are 1-1 on the season.

GRADY - The Grady Wildcats junior high basketball teams looked battled Garden City on Monday Night in Grady. The Wildcats defended their home court and bested the Garden City Bearkats 28-22.

MONAHANS - Stanton’s Lady Buffs hit the road Tuesday night and headed west to Monahans. Stanton’s varsity had strong performance and returned home with a 34-32 victory. Gabby Rodriguez had an impressive game high 19 points.
