Lady Bearkat basketball program has big week

– It’s been a great couple days for Garden City Lady Bearkats basketball programs picking up five more victories and only one loss.The varsity Lady Cats looked spectacular with a 69-6 beat down of Veribest and a 44-26 drumming of Water Valley.
Garden City Food Challenge Teams competed in San Angelo last week. Pretty & Precise Foods brought home 1st Place Senior main dish and 4th place overall. Pictured are Sydnee Gully, Ivy Braden, Emily Easterling, and Claire Eggemeyer. Also competing but not pictured was the Cooking Queens. Aubrey Halfmann, Mackenzy Parker and Reagan Hillger had the 6th Place Intermediate Side Dish.

Garden City Bearkats get two more victories

– The Garden City Bearkats varsity boys basketball team continued its terrific play last week getting two more district victories over Water Valley and Blackwell.The Bearkats ended last week with a big win over Water Valley.

Lady Cats fall to Klondike, take down Loop

- The Grady Varsity Lady Cats split their last two district games. The Lady Cats lost on the road to Klondike 21-59, but bounced back to defeat Loop at home 45-21.Grady got off to a slow start against Klondike in the first half.

Wildcats can’t keep pace with Borden County

– The Grady Wildcats fell to 0-2 in district play following a loss to Borden County last week.The Coyotes took control of the game with a huge second quarter and held on through the second half for a 43-33 win.Cal McMorries led Grady in scoring with 11 points and Braxton Dillard added nine points.

Grady junior high girls were in action this week

- The Grady Junior High girls basketball teams participated in the Garden City Junior High Tournament this past weekend. It was a clean sweep for both the Lady Cat teams.The Grady Lady Cat B team finished first in the B division of the tournament.

Lady Buffaloes holding strong to second place in district playoff race

– It’s been a great couple weeks for Stanton’s varsity girls basketball team with he Lady Buffs picking up three more wins to remain second in the district standings.Stanton had a huge win over Brownfield.

GARDEN CITY – The Garden City junior high girl’s teams were in action last week against district opponent Veribest.It was a rough night for both Garden City teams.
