Buffaloes finish third in Hooptown

- The Stanton Buffaloes had a good weekend and finished third in the annual Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic.Stanton opened the tournament with a 42-37 victory over Colorado City.

Grady junior high teams drop two games

– The Grady junior high basketball teams were in action recently against a couple tough opponents.The Grady ‘B’ team took on rival Sands on Dec. 2.The Mustangs opened the contest with a 6-2 run and led 8-4 at the half. A huge fourth quarter clinched the victory for Sands, 20-8.

GARDEN CITY - The Garden City Lady Kats took on the Buena Vista Lady Longhorns on Dec. 3.The Lady Kats got off to a good start and never looked back winning the game 57-14.Leading scorers for Garden City were Brylon Frerich with 17 points, Karly Baker 13 points and Keegan Batla 13 points.

- The Grady Lady Cats traveled to Seagraves on Tuesday night for their first games back from the Thanksgiving Break.The Lady Cats varsity came out and looked a little rusty for the first half only scoring 10 points.

Garden City fall short in comeback against McCamey

– The Garden City Bearkats were in action last week on the hardwood against the McCamey Badgers.A slow start hampered the Bearkats as McCamey held a 25-14 halftime lead. Garden City had a huge third quarter to chip away at the lead but it wouldn’t be enough as the Badgers won 52-46.
